Your journey data,
explained.

This policy explains how DriveLog and its website handle information. DriveLog is published by Shaun Rogers.

What DriveLog stores

The app stores the information you enter and record: vehicle registrations, nicknames and categories; driver names; journey dates, locations, addresses and stops; Known Places; your report email address; and app preferences. These records are stored on your iPhone, along with local backup copies.

Camera and registration scanning

Camera access lets you scan or photograph a registration plate. Registration recognition uses Apple’s on-device Vision and VisionKit features. DriveLog does not upload registration images to a developer-operated recognition server or include them in its journey archives.

Location and address lookup

Location access is used to record journey and stop locations and save Known Places. Always location access supports Auto End at places you enable, including when the app is in the background. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings.

DriveLog uses Apple’s geocoding service to look up addresses from coordinates and coordinates from an address you enter. Those requests are processed by Apple; address lookup therefore needs a network connection.

iCloud backups

When iCloud Drive is available, DriveLog backs up its app records to your private DriveLog iCloud container associated with your Apple account. The app keeps a current and a previous cloud archive. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own terms and privacy practices.

Delete iCloud Backup removes those cloud archives without deleting current phone data. Automatic uploads stay paused until a successful Backup to iCloud Now. Deleting a cloud archive does not delete a copy you previously exported or shared.

Reports and information you share

PDF, CSV and complete-archive exports can include personal information from your records. When you share a file or send a report email, your chosen service and recipient receive that information. Check the content and recipient before sharing.

Analytics and advertising

The current app does not include developer-operated advertising, analytics or an account-registration service. App records are not sent to a DriveLog developer database. Apple’s platform services may process information under their own privacy policies.

Managing and deleting records

You can edit and delete journeys, saved vehicles, drivers and Known Places within the app. Editing or deleting a saved vehicle or driver does not change existing journey history. Delete any historical journey separately if you also want to remove its recorded details.

Backup copies may retain earlier records. Cloud archives can be removed using Delete iCloud Backup. Removing the app normally removes its local app storage; copies in device backups, iCloud archives and files you exported are separate and must be managed separately.

If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to answer your enquiry and troubleshoot the problem. Please avoid including unnecessary personal data.
